on 25th Aug. 2018 in DONYA Children's Research Institute. The first Children Art Education Pioneers' Meeting This meeting was held on 25th Aug. 2018 in DONYA Children's Research Institute.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nasser Yousefi, Director of the Children's Research Institute, welcomed the participants and introduced the institute to the guests. Then Zahra Farmani, the founder of the Virtual Children's Art Museum, welcomed the audience and appreciated the valuable presence of Gholam Hossein Nami and Turan Zandieh. She explained the objectives of the meeting is to introduce impressing figures of Children's art education; and to take a step toward collecting information in order to create a history of children's art education in Iran.
In the following, she noted the importance of recognizing the history of teaching art to children: "Steps without knowing our background will be weak steps. If we know our background, we will take more steady steps." The meeting continued with Professor Gholam Hossein Nami and Turan Zandieh's speech on their experiences in teaching children's art. Professor Nami emphasizing on the necessity of recognizing the background of childhood art, noted: "Awareness of the achievements of the past is a pathway to future."
Touran Zandieh also shared some of her experiences with those who were interested, by showing some children's art works.
Soon there will be another meeting with Mrs. Turan Zandieh so that the interested ones can learn and use her valuable experience.
The Virtual Museum of Children's Art plans to keep these meetings by inviting other notable and influential figures in the field of children's art education. The time and theme of the next meeting will be communicated to the interested people via the website of the Virtual Museum of Children's Art.
